Just last week, I saw Pharrell on Good Morning America talking about a new product called Bionic Yarn, a yarn made out of recycled plastic bottles! Yes, you heard me right! Recycled plastic bottles! Products made from Bionic Yarn fabrics include everything from clothing and shoes to even furniture! How cool! I was fascinated and had to find out more!
Most of us already know that Pharrell Williams is one of the music industry's hottest stars and a fashion icon! His contributions to the fashion industry include the Billionaire Boys Club, Ice Cream, and BAPES lines. What you might not have known, though, is that for years now, Pharrell has been trying to get the word out to consumers, like us, the government, and of course, the people who make our clothing, about Bionic Yarn.
His message is clear! Using Bionic Yarn to make products would be great for our environment! Just think about it! If we all purchased clothing, shoes, accessories, furniture, etc. made out of recycled materials rather than new resources, the carbon footprints we are all leaving behind would be greatly reduced, thus helping preserve our planet! So, why isn't it catching on?
It appears that the decisions about whether to use Bionic Yarn or not include consideration of a few very serious factors by the people that could make it happen that include the cost to incorporate it into a manufacturer's already existing products, and if people would actually buy and wear new products made out of essentially trash!
As a consumer, I am really excited about the prospect of one day buying products made out of Bionic Yarn fabrics and thereby helping reduce the carbon footprints I leave behind everyday! So, hopefully, in our not so distant future, the powers that be embrace Bionic Yarn and other products like it, so that they eventually become our norm and provide us with more environmentally-safe products!
Check out these Bionic Yarn products!

CARBONSTONE, one of the hottest rock bands in Maryland, made up of band members, Corey James (vocals/guitar), Neely Johns (Guitar), Josh "Trashman" (Bass), and Saint Lawrence (Drums), has just released a brand new video called, Faded! In Faded, the band explores the world of loneliness, regrettable decisions, and the things we do to escape. Painting a vivid picture of drunken debauchery, the images in the video are subtly revealed as mere images of the mind and a cold hard return to lonely reality depicted in the video's closing. Video production for Faded was provided by 91 Productions. Audio production was provided by W.A.F. Productions. Check it out!
See Faded on YouTube by clicking this link:
Like a Phoenix risen from the ashes, CARBONSTONE, after many experiments, inspirations, trials and musical visions, emerged. Their lyrical themes span between self-empowerment, self-destruction, and beyond. Aggressive instrumental sounds and melodic vocals, with tasteful aggressive breaks, compliment each other and are a critical part of the bands vision. CARBONSTONE's lyrical content is inspired by instances of loss, regret and conflict in the real world, and overcoming said adversities.
And so the band survives! CARBONSTONE is firmly established with an intense live show! Captivating audiences with their interactive stage presence and a sound that cannot be ignored, CARBONSTONE is turning the heads of all walks of life!

Yup, you heard right! Hip hop star, Snoop Dogg is collaborating with soccer star, David Beckham to design a line of baby clothing! Even though I don't normally think of babies when I think of Snoop Dogg, stranger things are known to happen in the fashion industry. And let's face it! Anything fashion the Beckham family has to do with sells! According to an article written by Susie Anderson on Limelife.com in "Fashion", Snoop Dogg and David Beckham are reportedly longtime friends. It appears that Beckham often advises and helps Snoop Dogg out on lots of his projects! The article also states that Snoop has reportedly already sketched some designs for the baby clothing line and plans to meet with Beckham in the U.K. while he's
there in July performing.
What do you think ab out a Snoop Dogg baby clothing line? Hot or not?
Leave me a comment and let me know!
