The 2011 Black Girls Rock! Awards, founded by DJ Beverly Bond, were held this year in the Bronx at the famed Paradise Theater! Black Girls Rock! is a non - profit youth empowerment and mentoring organization that since 2006 has worked to "promote the arts for young women of color, as well as to encourage dialogue and analysis of the ways women of color are portrayed in the media". The 2011 awards, which were hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, were reportedly "fierce, fun, and fabulous"according to Essence Magazine, and so were the divas in attendance!
