Streetwear Trend Alert F/W 13-14: "Feelin That Punk Funk!"

"Punk fashion" in the 70s was worn as a subculture's way to shock society and send out an anti-authority message towards the mainstream. No longer considered strange, artsy, and only for the underground scene, "punk fashions" today have become mainstream, making a huge statement in fashion as one of the hottest trends in streetwear for 2013. Collections, shown on the runway for fall/winter 2013-14 by top designers like Versace, Rodarte, and Chanel, included common "punk fashion" staples like safety pins, spikes, military boots, leather, tee shirts, and plaid with new innovative designs. Granted, I'm sure some of you are saying to yourself or maybe even me, that there's no way you could see yourself rocking any "punk fashions". For you, instead of going for a total punk look, try incorporating just a little bit of "punk fashion" to add a little "edge" to some of your fall/winter looks. I'm adding a little punk to my fall/winter wardrobe with leather! Leather leggings, leather trimmed tunics and tees, leather peplum tops, and  dope leather boots and booties are definitely adding some funk to my outfits, and I love it! So, experiment with your looks and just have fun! Now, here are some dope "punk fashions" for fall/winter 2013-14, including footwear and accessories, that can be found online and in select retail stores everywhere! Check them out and tell me what you think.

Trending for Fall 2013: Leather in Black is Back!

During recent fashion weeks, many top designers reminded us, with their creations in sexy black leather, that black is back and still dope as ever! One of the hottest trends for fall/winter 2012-13, black leather in women and men's garments, footwear, outerwear, and accessories was shown on runways for the fall 2013 season as well, and is already super trendy on the streets of France, Italy, and of course, New York! So fashionistas, you too can easily add a little edginess and swag to your fall wardrobe with either all black leather pieces or pieces accented with black leather. Either way, you won't go wrong!
Ladies, try pairing your black leather jackets with skinny jeans, cuffed pants, skirts and dresses, and your black leather pants or leggings with tunics, tops, and sweaters you already have in your closet! Fellas, pair your black leather pants with dope knit sweaters, shirts, and rollnecks (aka turtlenecks). You might also want to experiment with different styles of black leather gloves to add a little extra oomph to your outfits and outerwear! Finish your looks with black leather shoes, boots, booties, and bags that complement your outfits and express your very own individual style. Now, check out these black leather fashions
I found online! Hopefully you'll get inspired to add a few pieces to your wardrobe for the fall 2013 season!
