Trending for Fall 2013: Add Some Plaid

Hey, fashionistas! If you don't have any plaid in your wardrobe, get some! Plaid has become one of the biggest trends for fall 2013 and one of the easier trends to rock no matter what your personal style may be! Designers like Celine, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, Versace, and Moschino all showed plaid fashions in their fall 2013 runway shows. Plaid can be dressed up or down and worn with pieces you already own to suit your needs for work and play. Plaid fashions, footwear, outerwear, intimate apparel, and accessories are abundantly available in stores and online right now for men, women, and children, so just take a look! You're bound to find something you love that'll inspire you to add some plaid!

Did you know? In Scotland, the word plaid, also known as kiltis used to describe a horizontal and vertical striped wool shawl or blanket that dates all the way back to 1560. These blankets or shawls were worn by Highlanders over other clothes and taken off before any kind of physical activity such as working or fighting. Today, unlike our use of the word plaid to describe this beautiful geometrically designed fabric, in Scotland and other parts of the world, plaids are the kilts still worn to represent Scottish heritage.
